20 years ago, we were the first and continue to be the only family-owned skincare company to offer a franchise business model in Australia. Our proven franchise model now boasts over 120 salons across Australia and continue to support those who have dreamed of owning and managing their own business. Our long history with David Jones department stores reaches back to 1954 and, today our skin experts, beauty counters and treatments rooms can be found in 40 locations across Australia.

Ella Baché was founded by revolutionary Cosmetic Chemist Madame Baché in Paris, 1936. Ella Baché recognised the standard way of treating skin types was over simplified. She invented and created skincare solutions that were individually tailored based on the skin’s condition at a cellular level. Ella Bache believed “ No two skins are alike” which is our manifesto today.  

Ella Baché has become a uniquely Australian story thanks to the inspiration of Edith Hallas. Edith brought Ella Baché to Australia in 1954, leading her on a lifetime journey of establishing one of Australia’s most enduring and respected skincare companies.
The Australian family story continues with Ella’s great niece, Pippa Hallas leading the evolution and growth of the brand as CEO.
